If you’ve been following us for a while, you know who Icarus FC is. The Philadelphia-based custom kit manufacturer is at the forefront of original jersey designs in the United States. They’ve created some of our favorite kits in recent memory, including the FC Stroitel Pripyat kit and Philadelphia neighborhood collection.
So when they approached us with the possibility of creating a kit of our own, it was an offer we couldn’t refuse (shoutout to Johnny Fontaine).
We wanted something simple, with elegant details that represented both who we and Icarus are. The result is a clean black and white design inspired by the no-frills nature of street football, complete with accents that harken back to Icarus’ roots in Greek mythology.
We might be a little biased, but we love the centered crest and vertical “sponsor” that throws it back to the iconic Ajax kits from the ’90s. And with a fully sublimated print, you don’t have to worry about the dreaded peeling of either the crest or sponsor.
The Urban Pitch x Icarus FC kits are set to release in very limited numbers this Friday exclusively through The Football Boutique, but you can get your hands on one ahead of time.
