Looking for a new pair of kicks? We’ve got you covered. Whether you’re a sneakerhead, die hard baller, or both, we’ve rounded up some of the hottest recent football and football-inspired footwear releases.
As the weather continues to get warmer, sneakerheads all over the world are exchanging their winter beaters for summer heaters. No one wants to get caught in a dusty pair of kicks, and if you’re looking to upgrade your arsenal — be it for on or off the pitch — here are some of the best new releases from the biggest brands.
The Pitch
New Balance Conduction Pack
Featuring a metallic copper and vivid blue colorway on both the Furon and Visaro silhouettes, New Balance’s “Conduction Pack” brings electric speed to your game. While no new tech updates were made to either boot, you can’t deny that the limited-edition pack looks dangerously striking.
Adidas Glitch Sol Skin
The latest installment of the world’s most talked about underground boot puts the ultra-customizable Adidas Glitch in vibrant orange hues that are perfect for the summertime. Good luck getting your hands on these if you don’t have a Glitch plug, as each highly-coveted skin is only available with an exlcusive code.
Under Armour Magnetico Metallic Gold
Although it may not be the first brand to come to mind when thinking about the beautiful game, Under Armour has quietly become a player in the football world, and the latest edition of the Magnetico boot is a testament to that. Featuring a beautiful monochrome gold colorway with a metallic sole plate, the boot draws similarities to the all-gold Puma ONE, one of our favorite boots released from last year.
Nike Mercurial NikeID
While new boot technology and innovations are always necessary with the oft-changing (dare we say — mercurial) nature of the game, it’s important to remember the classics. Nike has done just that with the NIKEiD “Born Mercurial” collection, putting the new Mercurial 360 Superfly and Vapor boots in classic Mercurial colorways from every World Cup year dating back to 1998 — the year the original Mercurial debuted.
The Streets
Nike Air Max 270 x Mercurial ID
No, you’re not seeing double. Nike extended the Mercurial-inspired NIKEiD makeups to its new Air Max 270 sneaker, staying with the theme of paying tribute to classics on a new model. The Air Max 270 has been widely accepted by sneakerheads as another strong addition to the Air Max line, something that isn’t easy given the legendary Air Max 1, 90, 95, and 97 that it has to compete with.
Nike Tiempo 10R LegendX Barcelona & Milan
Continuing to pay homage to the cities the legendary Ronaldinho played in, the Nike Tiempo 10R LegendX was recently released in Barcelona and Milan colorways. While the first edition of the city pack celebrated locations that represented the beginning of the Gaucho’s career, these two reflect on his prime, winning a Ballon d’Or in 2005 with Barca and leading Serie A in assists in his 2009-10 campaign with Milan.
Adidas Predator Ultraboost Paul Pogba
A lifestyle sneaker to complement his first-ever signature Predator boot, the Paul Pogba Predator Ultraboost is perfect for the streets in an ultra-wearable grey colorway with hints of burgundy. If it’s good enough for arguably the most stylish man in all of football, it’s probably good enough for you.
Adidas Kamanda
A polarizing football-inspired lifestyle sneaker from the Three Stripes, the Kamanda features design hints from the Terrace movement popularized by British football fanatics the ’80s. Although it wasn’t as widely praised by the sneaker community as the Air Max 270, the Kamanda quickly sold out upon its release, and if you want to pick these up, your best bet is to go through a reseller.
