Rotterdam is often recognized as the nexus of street football’s renaissance in the early 90’s. Complete with their own distinctive style and fashion, pioneers from this Dutch city influenced players all around the world while helping to usher in a new era of movement. Today, we witness a new generation who continue the important tradition of ballers from Rotterdam exhibiting their unique combination of technical skill and street culture.
The Neymar Jr’s Five Qualifiers continued in Rotterdam this past Saturday, May 27 at Sportclub Excelsior.
A healthy field of 14 teams gathered to compete on a blistering hot day with temperatures nearing 90 degrees Farenheit. FC Bisco, a team from Amsterdam managed to outlast the competition including runners-up Otown Athletic. They were able to endure and claim victory despite the harsh playing conditions and not eating to observe Ramadan.
Winners of the Netherland qualifiers will move on to the finals in Utrecht for a chance to compete for the international final in Brazil.
