Your favorite MC’s favorite MC, Devin Kirtz joins the latest episode of the Urban Pitch Podcast to discuss his experience at the 2022 World Cup, his varied careers, and how he created a new kind of soccer ball.
An artist, host, and entrepreneur, Devin Kirtz is a man of many talents — so much so that even his own wife has trouble explaining his multi-faceted career. At the root of Kirtz’s versatility is a passion for music and soccer.
He played on the Wingers, Red Bull’s freestyle football team which has been described as the “Harlem Globetrotters of Soccer,” and while touring with the team he would record music in his hotel room. His background in the sport and comfortability on the mic led him to hosting soccer events with brands like Nike and adidas, which eventually led him getting linked up with U.S. Soccer.
Recently removed from his trip to Qatar as the United States men’s national team’s official in-stadium host, Kirtz joins the Urban Pitch Podcast to discuss his background in the game, his experience at the 2022 World Cup, and how he came to invent the Baden Strata, an official soccer match ball with basketball aesthetics.
