In the world of football, there are those who score goals, and then there are those who score so prodigiously that they seem to be in a class of their own. Thai futsaler Suphawut Thueanklang doubtless belongs to that latter category, and in his recent international appearances has continued to demonstrate his masterful knack for hitting the back of the net. Suphawut earned top scorer at the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Championship held in Uzbekistan earlier this year, notching four goals in the bronze medal match alone and helping the Thailand men’s national futsal team secure a spot in the upcoming 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia.
With an ability to strike with both feet, the 27-year-old standout and former AFC Futsal Player of the Year has tallied a whopping 90 goals in 145 international matches. His goal-scoring prowess is no less notable on the club level, where he’s amassed more than 140 goals since joining Chonburi Bluewave in 2007.
If Suphawut has already established his place as one of Thailand’s football greats, his larger ambition is to elevate Thai futsal in the international arena and advance his team to the final eight at the World Cup. Watch the striker in action in this highlight video:
