The latest episode of the Urban Pitch Podcast features LAFC forward and fan favorite Danny Musovski, who joins the washed-up crew to discuss his MLS career, growing up in Vegas, and how the team handles the fierce El Trafico rivalry with LA Galaxy.
“MOOOOOOOSE!”
It’s a chant you’ll routinely hear at LAFC’s Banc of California Stadium any time forward Danny Musovski starts/enters a game, scores a goal, or does anything else significant on the pitch. The 27-year-old Las Vegas native has quickly become a favorite amongst the LAFC faithful since signing on with the team in 2020, and he’s broken out as a capable goal scorer for the black and gold.
He’s part of a dynamic attacking front that sees LAFC in first place in the MLS Western Conference, but one blemish on the club’s season has been its inability to beat crosstown rival LA Galaxy — yet. Both games this year, one in regular season play and one in the U.S. Open Cup, have seen the Galaxy come out decisively victorious, but a third matchup looms in the not-too-distant future: July 8 at the Banc of California Stadium.
You can bet Musovski and the rest of the LAFC squad has that date circled on their calendars, and they’re surely hungry to avenge the pair of disappointing losses earlier this season.
Musovski joins Ramsey Abushahla and Julio Monterroza to give us some insight into the fierce rivalry, which has been the talk of the league since Zlatan Ibrahimovic led a three-goal comeback in the first matchup in 2018.
In addition, “Moose” discusses growing up in Las Vegas, signing (and getting cut) by his childhood favorite team, the San Jose Earthquakes, and responds to some of the comments made by former teammate-turned-rival Raheem Edwards ahead of the most recent El Trafico matchup.
