One half of the ‘Death at the Derby’ duo, Cousin Feo joins the Urban Pitch Podcast to discuss his soccer-infused rhymes, working with the LA Galaxy, and the rising ‘El Trafico’ rivalry.
We’ve been on the Cousin Feo wave for quite some time now. Since we were introduced to the Los Angeles-based MC in 2019, we’ve been transfixed by his witty soccer references, raspy, booming voice, and his ear for grimy, ’90s-reminiscent beats.
Whether it be through his A La Carte series of EPs, which take us on a brief yet vivid trip to some of the world’s most prominent football destinations, or his Death at the Derby projects with frequent collaborators Lord Juco and DJ Dubplates, Feo has been behind some of our favorite music over the past few years.
A lifelong LA Galaxy fan, he’s also had the opportunity to work with the club via performances, pop-up shops, and most notably providing the soundtrack to the team’s video announcing the signing of Chicharito.
Feo returned to the Urban Pitch Podcast to discuss the opportunities he’s had to work with the Galaxy, the El Trafico rivalry, and some upcoming projects he has in the works, including the next A La Carte EP and his debut LP.
You can watch the entire podcast on YouTube, or listen to the audio on streaming services including Apple and Spotify.
Death at the Derby Season 2 and Choripan vinyls are available for purchase now, and you can check out Cousin Feo’s website for more information on upcoming albums and projects.
