Attention is growing for up-and-coming sensation Liv Cooke, the UK’s first—and so far only—professional female football freestyler. Cooke grew up in northwest England and fell in love with football at an early age. She discovered freestyle less than two years ago, and since turning pro has taken her sick tricks to the road, displaying her talent at international competitions, half-time shows, charity events, and of course, on the pavement. She’s appeared on the TEDx stage and TV, and has even created her own clothing line. Oh—and she’s only 16 years old.
For Cooke, freestyle is about more than performance. The unassuming teen wants to increase the visibility of females in the sport, and strives to be a role model for young people around the world. By the looks of her robust following, she’s well on her way to accomplishing those goals.
