The Round-Up: Upcoming Street Football, Freestyle, and Futsal Events

2016 is almost over, but that doesn’t slow down the devoted baller or freestyler. With some of the biggest events of the year coming up, it’s time to get fired up and focused. Here are your upcoming freestyle, street ball, and futsal competitions.

Belgian Panna Championship 2016, National Final of ENGIE Street Heroes, Oct. 22: Watch out for one of the best panna competitions in the world, where Belgium’s top players compete for the title of ‘Belgian Panna Champion’ in Bozar, Brussels. All players have to be qualified in one of the province finals of 2016 to participate.

Red Bull Street Style 2016, Nov. 7-8: Always entertaining, the Red Bull freestyle tournament makes freestyle accessible to the mainstream, and brings the world’s top competitors together. This fall, the competition returns to London, England, where skill and creativity will take center stage. Over 40 nations are expected to field participants, with male competitors having had to qualify in their respective countries to compete. Female freestylers qualified via video entry, and the following made the cut: Melody Donchet, France (returning champion); Lucia Kevicka, Slovakia; Kitti Szasz, Hungary; Laura Biondo, Venezuela; Aguska Mnich, Poland; Kalina Matysiak, Poland; Liv Cooke, GBR; and our very own Resident Pro Caitlyn Schrepfer, USA. Worth a ticket too see it live!

LA Galaxy Soccer Center 5v5 Futsal Tournament, Nov. 19: Organized by Copa Cabana Sports, which hosts a variety of short-sided tournaments year-round, this recreational tournament takes place in Torrance, CA. Registration deadline is Nov. 12, with a $275 team fee.

Outbreak Futsal Center 5v5 Futsal Tournament, Dec. 3: Also hosted by Copa Cabana, this Huntington Beach futsal event’s deadline to register is Nov. 26, with a $275 team fee.

Asian Freestyle Football Championships and International Open Show Flow, Dec. 8-10: For the first time, the Asian Freestyle Football Federation (F3) is introducing an international open show flow for freestylers worldwide. Hosted in Davao, Philippines, both the Asian and Show Flow winners will win a cash prize and the prestigious title. Organized by AF3 & Maharlika Sports, this competition is sanctioned by the World Freestyle Football Federation.
